NEW DEMANDS FOR PAY. < By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night, ' The demands of the Wellington section of the Australasia Institute of Marine Engineers has been filed. The monthly schedule of wages asked is:Chief or only engineer, under twenty nominal horse-power, . £26; twenty to forty, £2B; forty to sixty, £2B 10s 6d; sixty to eighty, £29; eighty to a hundred, £3l; a hundred to a hundred fifty, £32. Second engineers, under eighty nominal horse-power, £23; eighty to ft hundred and fifty, £24. Third engineers, under a hundred nominal horse-power, £2O; a hundred to a hundred and fifty, £2l 10s. > When vessels are engaged on excursions on Sundays or public holidays it is demanded that each engineer should be paid an extra day's sea pay. The allowance asked for Victualling and accommodation is: Chief or sole engineers lis a day, others 10s a day or 50s a week. ' The parties cited to the dispute are the Anchor Company (Nelson), the Canterbury Steamship Company, the Coftstftl Steamship Company (Wellington). T. Eckford and Co. (Blenheim), the Iron and Steel Company of New , (Dunedin), the Kaiapoi Shipping and Trading Company, Miller Bros. (Port 'fPv Chalmers), the New Zealand Refrigeratnig Company (Christchurch), the Orepuki Shipping Company (Christchuroh), the Patea Farmers' Co-operative Freezing Company, Richardson and Co. (Port Ahuriri), the South Taranaki ' Mapping Company (Wellington), Stevenson, Stewart and Co. (Christchurch), the Wakatu Shipping Company (Wellington), John, Ltd. (Wellington), the Southern Steamship Company (Dunedin), the owners of the Huia, the New PlymouthManawatu Shipping Company (Wellington) the Wairau Steamship Company (Wellington).
