London, October 31; The Pall Mall Gazette, confirming the statement that the British Government is ready to present the most modern warships to the Dominions, says the Admiralty desires specially to emphasise that Lord Jellicoe's scheme does not mean a big construction programme. The policy will be to provide the new Pacific fleet only from existing craft, which are equal in fighting value to the latest foreign vessels. FDTUiRE WAR AT SEA. London, October 30. Admiral Fisher writes: It is as clear as daylight that future war on the sea absolutely precludes the use of any war vessels except su'bmersibles, so why keep any at present? We must also scrap all the admirals and superior officers, as they will not do for the new jobs ,and pat them in a museum like Greenwich Hospital. "Excepting submarines all we want is seaplanes. At present the naval side of the Air Force is costing a few millions, yet the army estimates are oveT 400 millions. A year after the most devastating armistice known in the world the whole nation is blinded.— Times.
