ALLEGED ATTEMPT TO PROCURE ■ MURDER. By Telesraph —Trera Assn.—Copyright Palmerston North, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court, Charles James Cockery waa committed for tH») on charges of having attempted to pro* cure two youths, Henry Joseph Liwiij and Alfred Mervyn Capp, to murder Detective-Sergt. Quirke; also with re-, ceiving goods stolen by Lewis and Cappflie latter turned King's evidence, and deposed that Cockery had paid then for stolen goods which had been stored in Cookery's*livery stables. He had also offered them a reward if they put a charge of gelignite under Qnirke's bed* room to blow him up.
