NEW PROVINCE.

MOVEMENT IN NEW SOUTH WALES Received Oct. 31, 9.30 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 31. A movement in favor cf the separation of the Northern River district from New South Wales, forming a separate State, is being pushed in view of the coming elections.

Separationist candidates are receiving strong local support. The motive behind the movement is the disadvantage in which the northern district is placed in having to subordinate its interests to far-distant Sydney, whereas its importance and geographical position demand decentralisation—Aus.-N.Z.
