WAR FUNDS.

DISPOSAL OF THE SURPLUS. (By Wire.—Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. In the House to-day Dr. Thacker (Christchurch East) asked what the Minister for Internal Affairs intends to do with regard to war funds. He said that much money was being held and ought to be spent on the returned soldiers. The Minister replied that he could not make a definite statement. The money would be spent for the purposes of which it had been raised, namely the care of sick and wounded soldiers.' He intended to. see that the money was apjilied to the objects for which it had been raised.
