♦ LONDON WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—P»es3 Assn.—Copyright. London, Oct. 27. At the wool sales 11.151 bales were catalogued, of which 3140 wore New Zealand. To-day's offerings were a fairly good selection, especially of average quality merinos. There ! was a large attendance nad spirited bidding • by Yorkshire and Continental buyers for merinos. Average medium combing lots realised prices on a par with the last closing rates, faulty combing, bellies and pieces advancod 5 per cent., fine were in keen request at full late rates, scoured and slipes were generally In sellers' favor. Lambs (merinos) were In strong demand at unchanged I prices, crossbreds par to 5 per cent, advance. The Bradford market is buoyant, with strong J demand for fine qualities at higher rates; lower qualities show a hardening tendency. NEW SOUTH WALES LOAN. London, Oct. 29. The underwriters receive 64 per cent, of the New South Wales loan.
