STRIKE OF STEWARDS. Received Oct. 30, 9.50 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 30, The stewards on the Niagara have struck, owing to the stoppage of an increase of 35s monthly made during the influenza epidemic. Received Oct. 30, 9.50 p.m. Melbourne, Oct. 30. A proclamation prohibits the importatios of packages not clearly marked stating the country of origin. This is done with the- object of preventing the introduction of enemy goods in parcels designed to disguise whence they originated. ASSISTANCE FOR FARMERS. Received Oct.
