MAORIS AS SOLDIERS.
TRIBUTE TO THEIR SERVICES. * By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In the House of Representatives today. Sir James Allen laid on the table a paper showing the deaths, casualties, and honors in the Maori reinforcements. He thought every Pakeha would agree (t showed a record of which the Dominion had every reason to be proud. He proposed to have the paper translated ,into the Maori language and printed. Sir Joseph Ward paid a tribute to the Native race. He said they established a record for courage and behaviour of such a high order that they won golden opinions whereever they went. They were the only Native race who hnn pever been conquered, and wherever the Premier and himself had gone in l«'rance ihev heard with pride and pleasure most flattering accounts of them while on active service. •
