In this Istua the Taranaki Agricultural Society advertises that entries for the home kitchen garden competition close on Friday, October 31, 19IS, and that details and entry fcrms may be procured from the secretary in Currle Street. The prizes in this com- j petition are: First £4, second £3, third £2, i fourth £l, and the entry fee is ss. This entry fee entitles competitors to take part in a further competition to be judged at the 1920 Winter Show, and which will be for "the best collection of garden vegetables grown In the gardens entered for the home kitchen garden competition." The prizes for this competition will be: First £4, second £3, third £2, fourth £l. Entries for the latter competition must be made at the time of general entries fo? the Winter Show, which will be some time In May of next year. The society wishes to make it quite clear that despite rumours to the contrary, tho 1920 Winter Show will be held in June of that Fear, and persons preparing exhibits for that show may carry on with the assurance that the show will eventuate.
