LABOR IN AMERICA.
MINE WORKERS TROUBLE. MESSAGE FROM THE'PRESIDENT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Oct. 28, 7.15 p.m. Washington, October 25. President Wilson, in a statement to the miners and operators, says: "I solemnly request the mine workers to recall any orders to strike. I feel it a public duty to declare that any attempt to carry out your purposes by means of a strike must be considered a grave moral and legal wrong. The law will be enforced and means found to protect the interests of the nation in any emergency." Cabinet has issued a statement that fifteen representative Americans, not divided into groups, will be called together to map out a plan to bring about the co-operation of labor and capital, and to submit their recommendations to the Government. —Aus.-N.Z.
