FORETELLING THE FUTURE.
• INTERESTING COURT DECISION. By Telegraph.—l'ress Assu— Copyrii'ht. ' London, Oct. 25. It is understood that the police will not appeal against the fortune-celling decision of Mr. Bankes, a London magistrate. What was described as a surprising decision was given by Mr. llankes, the South-West London Magistrate a few weeks ago. It upspts the traditional attitude of the Courts towards fortune-tel-lers. A woman, who charged 4s for consultation, held a bracelet to her forehead and described future happenings, ! which she pleaded spirits predicted. The ! woman stated 3he had studied spirituai- .' ism for 20 years. • Mr. Bankes, in disj missing the charge, Baid: "I cannot say j whet.-. ■: it is possible to foretell the fui ture, ■.•;, a I am convinced the accused believes she possesses that power. Therefore there is no intention to deceive."
