THE MANAWATU SHOW. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Oct. 26. The entries for the Manawatu A. and P. Association's Spring Show total 3724, being 566 in excess of last year. There is a large increase in horses and sheep, but a falling off in cattle. The art, technical and public school classes are extensively patronised. There is every indication that the show will be the most successful the society has yet hela.

SALVATION ARMY'S SELF DENIAL EFFORT.

Wellington, Last Night. The Salvation Army's Self Denial effort this year resulted iii £50,717, an increase of £1392 on last year's. The divisional totals were: Auckland £11,352, Central £10,187, Wellington £5239, Christchurch £7050, I)i;nedin i £7BBB.
