TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held on Wednesday and Thursday. Present: Messrs H. Bullard (chairman), J. Heslop, C. J. Ryan, N. R. Clelaiid and J. W. H. Martin.
Transfers approved were..as follow: Exors of S. B. White to M. Kindberg Lot 2A part "2345 Town of New Plymouth, and part section W New Plymouth Town Belt, also part section 2345 Town of New Plymouth; John Hunt to J. E. Noton, sections 2321, etc., Town of New Plymouth; J. Pearce to W. G. Speedy, section 26, Block XIV., Ohura; P. J. Petersen to E. Andersen, section 4, Block XTV, Suiroa S. District; E. B. Ellerm to 6. W. Ireland, Lot 6 section U, New Plymouth Town Belt; A. L, Young to C. T. Jones, sections 1, 2, 4 to 12, 14 to 20, Manaia; C. Carter to A. J. Gibbons, section £74, New Plymouth; R. Caldwell to G. Derbyshire, section 4, Block y XIII., Omona; C. 0. Jury, to M. F. E. Newton, section 3, Block VIII., Waitara;. E. McCluggage to Pohokura Sawmillmg Co., section 24, Block IV, Ngatimaru- (sawmillmg rights).
The following transfers were refused: W;. T. Joll to V. Kea, section 5, Block VIL, Mimi;. H. Turchie to W. H. Black, section 6, Block XI., Cape.
The applications of N. R., F. E., and H. Cleland to exchange S.G.R. leases of sections 2, Block X, 6 Block IX and 2 Block IX., Pouatu Survey District were approved and valuer appointed. Valuers were appointed to assess for rental purposes education leases of: E. G. Johnston, lot 3 section W, Town Belt of New Plymouth,; T. Fitzgibbon, lot 1 section W, Town- Belt of New Plymouth; O. T. Bayly, lot SA, 5B and 8, section W, Town Belt of New Plymouth; G. Bertrand, section 1, Urenui Town Belt; W. 0. Spooner, section li and 12, Block XXVII, Pa'taa; H. Law, section 08, Blotfk XII., Ngaire 'S.D.; J. Foreman and J. F. Loveridge, sections 1 and 2, Manganui Town Belt.
The Taranaki County's proposals for expenditure of thirds (£8 14s Id) were approved. The application of, J. J. Busby for exemption from residence on section 4 Rlook Vlil, Tsengitu, was deferred. It was proposed to forfeit lease of section 6 Bltock XIV, Mahoe S. District, and re-offer same loaded with improvements.
G. Parker, leasee of section 10 Block 1, Rangi, was granted exemption of residence fpr one year.
It was resolved that section 10. Block Vir, Ohura S. District, a papa reserve, be exchanged for portion of section 9 Block VII, Ohura S. District. It was resolved to approve the application of P. F. Wilson for an additional 2SO arcres. The offer of sections 1 and 2 Block XI, Ohura, for sub-division for soldier settlement, was declined, as the sections Were not suitable 'for sub-division.
Three applications for mortgages were approved. The following soldiers' Work dealt with under the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act: 14 applications for town properties with houses were recommended, 2 declined and 3 deferred; 3 applications for town sections were recommended, and 8 applications for the erection of Mldings, 21 applications for rural sections were recommended. 5 refused, and 8 deferred, while 7 applications for improvements and stock, and 2 for reduction and mortgages were approved.
