STABILISING RATES OF PAY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyrißbt. London, October 21. The coal output during the railway strike week was 2,871,610 tons compared with 4,481,434 tons the previous week. Representatives of the engineering and shipbuilding trade unions interviewed Sir R. S. Home and demanded thas the present rates be stabilised for another year, as this has already been conceded to the railwaymeii. Sir Robert Home will consult with Cabinet and '"the employers.—Aus.-N.Z.
