FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY. By TOegrsph.—Press Assn.— Copyright London, October 21. The Emir Feisul has gone to Paris ht M. Clemenceau's invitation to dispuss the Syrian question. The Anglo-French agreement provides that the British shall withdraw from the Arab zone on November 1, when the country will be handed over to tfc* Emir, hut the French garrisons will remain in the Lebanon, also in the littoral districts. Tin Emir fears that the alterations in the status quo, inaugurated by General Aflenby, will result in tronble, and protests against the evacuation by the (British, who are regarded as the friends fit Islam. He urges that the question of evacuation he submitted to the Allied Military Commission.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable t&ssn.
