PERSONAL.
President Wilson passed a comfortable night. His indigestion is not causing further trouble. The death occurred, on the Eraser Road yesterday of Mr William Death, a well known settler. The Legislative Council has granted leave of absence for the remainder of the session to the Hon. H. F. Wigram, who is iii ill-health. At a special meeting of the Taranaki Hospital Board yesterday, Messrs i\l. Eraser (chairman), A.- H. Halcombe and F. J. Hill were appointed to go to Wellington and Cliristehui'ch next week on Board business. The engagement is announced of Miss Kathleen Kreeth, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs P. C. Freeth, of Palmerston North, and Mr Darey McGregor, youngest son of the late Mr J. 1). McGregor and Mrs McGregor, of Westmere, Wanganui.—Chronicle.
