FRONTIER WARFARE.
BRITISH FIGHTING IN INDIA. OVER A HUNDRED CASUALTES. By Telegraph.—Press Ann.—Copyright. Received Oct. 21, 12.10 a.m. Simla, Oct. 10 (delayed). A gathering of Wana Waziers, 300 strong, attracked a reconnoitring party between Manghi and Luni on Oct. a. Our casualties were 29 killed or missing, including one British officer. The enemy lost heavily. A column from the ICawi Bridge, on the 6th., engaged the same party, which was then estimated to be 600 strong, near Manghi. It first drove the enemy into the hills, but later the enemy, apparently, fell into an ambush. The column was only able to reach Kawi Bridge after heavy fighting. The casualties are believed to have been approximately 80, including two British officers and one Indian medical officer.
A fresh column, with guns, proceeded to Manghi on October B.—Beuter.
