INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent) . Oct. 20. The efforts of the Ladies' Patriotic Committee were crowned witli success on Thursday evening last, when the final ball eventuated. The Town Hall presented an animated spectacle and accommodation in all parts of the building was. severely taxed'. The supper arrangements were excellent, and the decorations were artistically arranged. Alius Curd's orchestra supplied first rate music and dancing was' kept up until the wee hours of the morning. Mrs. Evans, lion. see. to the T.adies' Patriotic Committee, who has "been laid up of late, is in a much improved state of health. Mr. W. Bent has disposed of his Rugby Road farm, and ha? bought a valuable property near AVaitara. Sir. W. Eagar has acquired the hairdressing business lately carried oft by ill". P. Lawson, and intends re-modelling Hie building so as to cater more adequately for the requirements of customers. Mr. P. Qiiinn, of Upper Hut.t, is spending a few days here renewing old acquaintances. The Rev. Mr. Bensley gave an instructive hour or two with the Boy Scouts on Friday last, his subject being "Ambulance Work at the Front."
