BRITAIN'S GREAT LOSSES." By Teleerapb.—Pnss Asin - CoDjTlgM. Received Oct. 18, 1,35 a,m. London, Oct. 16. A White Taper states the enemy »anV 2379 British merchantmen, totalling 7,759,000 tons. Two thousand ana ninety-June were sunk by submarine*, 259 by mines, and four by aircraft. Lives Inst totalled 14,827. Eighteen hundred and eighty-five ships' of a tonnage of 8,007,!>07 were molested, but not sunk. Five hundred and ninety-two lives were lost. In addition 075 fishing vessels of a, tonnage of 71,705 were sunk, involving a loss of 534 lives.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
