ENTERTAINMENTS.

EVERYBODY'S. THE BTG FOX SPECIAL, "CHEATING THE PUBLIC," TO-NIGHT. Said a former manager of Drury Lane Theatre, famous for the melodramas it has produced: "The successful dramas of to-day must be realistic; for to-be realistic is to be true to nature; and to be natural is to be artistic." "Cheating the Public" is realistic; its scenes are chapters from the book of human experience. It will not be misunderstood by any man, or any woman, or any child. It is a story of you; of your neighbor; of the family around the corner. It is melodrama —magnificent it is not overdrawn, not exaggerated; it is just life; life as all men know it to be. To.night at Everybody's this big sensational production from the Fox suuwos will be screened for the first time. It will also be shown at the matinee tomorrow and for, the last occasion tomorrow night. "Cheating the Public" is an exciting and fascinating story. It is a powerfully dramatic story of 'business brutality and ruthlessness, interwoven with an expose of child labor conditions, and the heartless operations, of a food profiteer. An all-star cast is engaged. Every one of the characters is strong.--individualised, even to the children, who are "just themselves." Every one of them represents a phase or phases of human nature- And it is this, in large part, that makes the production most remarkable melodrama., There are other big films', including a Western drama 'Untamed," starring Roy Stewart. Specially selected items are played by Everybody's orchestra, the programme opens at 7.30 with "Untamed" and the first reel of "Cheating the Public" will commence at 8.40. The management urge patrons'to attend this evening as there is certain to be numbers who will be unable to obtain admission to-morrow night. THE PEOPLE'S. LAST NIGHT OF MAY ALLISON. Charming May Allison appears finally to-night in her latest Metro play of smiles, tears and laughter, entitled "A Successful Adventure." The programme includes the latest Gazette, Comedy, and Interest films. LILA LEE TO-MORROW. . To-morrow's new bill commencing at the matinee at 2 presents beautiful little Lila Lee in a thrilling picture "Such a Little Pirate." Peggy was used to dangers and excitement. Of course she always had Sinbad, the Chimpanzee to look after her. Take the time when Bill Bay-Eye and his gang had been driven off in their endeavor to steal the treasure chart—then again when Pecgy •and Sinlbad had saved Obadiah Wolf from a hideous death—again, the fight on the island. This picture is strides ahead of Lila's last "The Cruise of the Make Believe."
