PICTURE THEATRES.
THE OLD HOURS WANTED. By Telefjranh —Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation from the recently fonft<M Independent Exhibitors Association waited on the Prime Minister this afternoon with i request that legislation be passed enabling picture theatres to revert to thci hours prevailing before the epidemic; also that the Independent Exhibitors, should be given an opportunity of showing films imported by the Government. It was stated that films of the big battles on the Western front bad not been shown in New Zealand to the best advantage. In future legia- , lation affecting the picture industry the Association would be pleased to be comsuited. Mr Massey said in reference to opening theatres' at the nre,-er>id_»mic hours! he thought it probable that" legislation would be passed this session. With regard to future letrislation he would, if possible, obtain the opinion of the) Association, but be thnueht this might be n little, difficult. With reference to the fiovernment war films, he saw them being shown, but he was not aware what became of them, but would make in« qniries. >
