The newspapers are giving prominence to, the Church Congress at Leicester. Bishop read a paper in which he pessimistically reviewed the outlook for Christianity as judged by the growing demand for divorce, acquiescence in .fornication, and race suicide. Dean Inge, in his address, dwelt upon the passing of the .belief in a localised heaven and hell, and said he did not pretend that the belief as to the resurrection of the body stood where it did. He uttered a waruing against the revival of necromance, in which many desolate hearts wore seeking spurious satisfaction. —Eeuter. Received Oct. 10, 11.20 p.m. London, Oct. 15. Bean Inge, at the Church Congress, added that spiritualism was a pitiable necromancy.
