General Denikin's operations greatly alarmed the Soviet press. All former land owners and civil officials in Peirograd and Moscow are feeing registered. A plot was discovered, implicating 800 fcffieen, to seize the wireless at Moscow «nd announce the fall of the Soviet Government, and organise an armed insurrection of troops. Von der Goltz, realising that his occupation of Northern Lithuania is ending, is indulging in abominable outrages. Upon the refusal of the Lithuanians to surrender the barracks at Chavli, the Germans invaded the gymnasium and attacked, with the utmost severity, the ■ children and teachers, the soldiers using their sabres and muskets. Cable Assn. PROGRESS OP DENIKJN. WELCOMED BY THE PEOPLE. London, 0* 15. Denikin reports that, after many days' fighting, he has captured Orel. The simple people, weeping with joy, fell on «. their knees and exclaimed "Christ has risen." The troops were received with enthusiasm. Several thousand prisoners Jrere takes, with two batteries and an (enormous amount of booty. Denikin cut up the Reds in Ust Medflinging them back beyond Mevyfutchka and taking 1500 prisoners. Another 1100 prisoners were taken in the Upper Don' district, where a battery with its gunners was captured and turnled against the Reds. KonbvalofFs Don Cossacks, in the Kriyutchy region, dispersed a Bolshevik division, taking 3000 prisoners, with two heavy and three smaller guns. The Stockholm correspondent of the Echo de Paris states that Denikin has occupied the important station of Talcanhon. Jovacs, taking 9000 prisoners and 20 Helsingfors, Oct. 15. The Reds, near Gatschina, are retiring almost without resistance. Copenhagen, Oct. 14. It is reported that the Poles have attacked the Germans and captured Eovno. Paris, Oct. 15. The Supreme Council has asked the Scandanavian Powers to co-operate in blockading Soviety Russia. The Supreme Council has invited Germany to join in the blockade against Soviet Russia.—Renter.
