The Times' Washington correspondent states that the Federal authorities possess evidence showing that I.W.W. and) Bolshevik organisations in the United States are now openly agitating for the overthrow of the Government and the substitution of communism. Propaganda is carried on in every section of the country by magazines, newspaper, pamphlets, and word of mouth. The keynote of the agitators is the destruction of property rights, the I.W.W. to take over all industry.•—AusN.Z. Cable Assn. THE STEEL STRIKE. New-York, Oct,. 14. A telegram from Chicago states that the Federal troops are controlling Gary, Indiana, the centre of the steel strike. The authorities have arrested an alleged bomb-maker. It is believed he sent bombs to Messrs Mitchell, Palmer, the Attorney-General, and a number of Judges in May last. A dozen prisoners have been arrested at Gary and confined in a stockade. A press censorship has been established. NEW YORK STRIKE ENDING. Received Oct. 10, 12.35 a.m. New York, Oct. 15. Workers on tugs, ferries, and lighteTS have voted t< return to work.
