THE PEOPLE'S. "THE CITY OF DIM FACES." Beautiful and tragic is the story of "The City of Dim Faces," now showing as the important film at the People's. It is a photo-play of rare excellence from the standpoints of production and artistry. Sessue Hayakawa is the star featured. He portrays the role of a young half-caste Chinese, the son of a wealthy silk merchant in the Chinese quarter of the town- He is unaware that his mother is a white woman, and that she is kept a prisoner in an underground den by his own father. At a social gathering he meets a young girl, with whom he falls in love. When she breaks their engagement .lie is annoyed and throws her into a Chinese den, where his own mother is kept a prisoner. The succeeding events are full of interest. The "Story of Tharra," being episode two of "The Fighting Trail," gazette and pictograpli are also shown. EVERYBODY'S. LAST SOREENINGS OF "MICKEY." Mack Sennett's wonder picture "Mickey" will be screened at Everybody's this afternoon at 2.30 and to-night at 7.30. These will be positively the last two occasions the picture can be shown in New Plymouth. The theatre was again crowded last evening with a wildly enthusiastic audience and the {mx plan points to another huge audience to-night. '"Mickey" iias easily broken all previous records for motion picture successes in New Ply. mouth. COMING TO-MORROW-"A SOUL WITHOUT WINDOWS." , Ethel Clayton stars to-morrow in a powerful and appealing drama, "A Soul Without Windows," and there is a very fine selection of supporting pictures including a "Pathe Gazette," "Hula-Hula Land" (Keystone comedy), "American News," "Colorado Scenic Wonders" and a "Gaumont Graphic." MR. AMOORE'S SONG RECTTAL. Speaking of the well-known Australian tenor who is giving a song recital at the Empire Theatre, to-morrow (Wednesday) night an English newspaper says "Mr. Frank Amoore is an operatic artist This was evidenced by his marvellous rendering of "On With the Motley," from the opera Pagllacci. As an encore, he sang ''Take a. Pair of Sparkling Eyes."
