Kiel, American entrants in the air race, completed the trip from San Francisco in the order named. It is announced that all the fliers have been ordered not to begin the return trips until October 20,—Aus. and '■N.Z. Ctable Assn. FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA. AN UNLUCKY START. Received Oct. 13, 7.55 p.m. Paris, Oct. 12. Poulet, who is attempting the flight to Australia, started for Melbourne at 7 o'clock on Saturday evening.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Later. I'oulet had an unlucky start- lie only Sew about fifty kilometres and then returned to await better weather. It is estimated his trip to Australia will coat about ,£4ooo.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. A LONG ROUTE. Poulet's route provides for thirty stopping-places, including (after starting from Paris) Brussels, London, Geneva, Rome, Brindisi, Salonika, Constantinople, Adona, Bagdad, Bandar, Abbas, Bushire, Karatehi, Bombay, Calcutta, Bangkok, Singapore, Batavia, Sumba Island (Dutch East Indies), Palmerston, Rockhampton, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, End Adelaide. The route is 14,000 miles, of which 1875 will be over the sea and 2500 over mountains. Special petrol re\;rvoirs will be carried to enable Poulet to cross the Persian, Indian, and Australian deserts.
