A British plane was driven by air currents. Commodore Charlton fell at Ovid, New York, but Charlton escaped injury. A French plane also fell in flames, but both occupants escaped. Three additional trans-Continental ' airplanes fell en route to San Francisco The airmen escaped with a shaking.
