PROHIBITION VOTE IN NORWAY.
By Telegraph.—P.-ess Assn— Copyright. Copenhagen, Oct. 7. A large majority in Norway voted in favor of the prohibition of alcohol OPPOSITION TO STATE SHIPPING. London, Oct. 7. The Australasian Merchants' Association passed a resolution objecting to Government trade, which is always costly and inefficient compared with private enterprise The Australasian shipping services have in the past been thoroughly efficient. The association is of opinion that the completion of the Government steamers is unnecessary and undesired.
