Diplomatic advices from American sources indicate that a meeting of the League of Nations in Washington is unlikely before 1020. . It is expected that the ratification of the treat \; by three Powers will be completed this week, ending the itets of war and enabling the resumption of official relations with Oermanv. The Council of the League will immediately meet and appoint a commission to decide the Saar frontier, also to appoint a Higfh Commissioner at Dantzig.—Ans.-N.Z. Cable Assn. QUESTION OF TOTING PC/AVER. Washington, Oct. 0. Mr M'Cumbcrs, in the Senate, said it was untrue that Britain and her Dominions possessed six votes to the American one in the League of Nations. Senators who vera seeking to limit the British votes were seeking to fan public prejudice by means of popular antiBritish appeals. Mr M'Cumbers urge<T that, instead of the Johnson amendment, there should be another excluding the British Dominions from participation in the League during the consideration of disputes involving Britain or any of the Dominions.—Aus.-N.Z.
