Deeley rode Karo in the Squatters' Handicap, and easily accounted for the opposition. Results: SHORTS HANDlCAP.—Greenstead 9.13 I, Willie Pioma 8.4 2, Auberlc 7.10 3, There were thirteen starters, including Spanner and Binieter. The raco was won easily by two lengths. Time, 1.12. CLIBBORN' STAKES.—MMietne 1, Rossini 2, Admiral Collingwood 3. There were nine Btftr.ttrs. Won by a neck. Time, 1.52%.
METROPOLITAN STAKES. Of 5000 sots. 1% miles. Uolius, 9.10 (Wood) 1 Keuiiford, 7.4 (McCabe) 2 Amazonia, 7.2 (McNamara) 3 There were twenty-seven starters, including Finnjark, Afterglow, Arch Marella, and British Arch, From the start Sydney Damsel and Shaded Light were first to show out. Shaded Light made most of the running front Sydney Damsel, Cetlgne, Thana, and Lord Acre. At the bend Afterglow went to the front with Rebus and Kenllford coming fast. Rebus and Ke.iilford fought out an exciting finish from the distance, and the former won by a long head, with two lengths separating Kenllford from Amazonia. Time, 2.32%.
