WANGANUI v. WELLINGTON, A cricket match was commenced on Frldnv betwoen the Wanganui representative team ami a Wellington touring team at Wanganui. Wanganui, batting first, complied 216, a Rood score under the circumstances, ns the wicket was soft and outfield heavy. The feature of the innings was a second wicket stand by Orton and Wood, which produced 114 runs. Both played good forcing cricket, Orton making several big hits out of tna ground, three being beautiful drives. Wood also hitting a trio of sixes. '
