"SNOWY" BAKER IN "THE LURE OF THE BUSH" TO-NIGHT. Unusual interest attaches to the first screening at Everybody'* to-night of the latest E. J. Carroll attraction, "The Lure of the Bush," featuring Snowv Baker and Rita Tress. This picture has had the unusual advantage of having been edited and assembled in an American studio during Mr, Baker's recent visit to the United States, and {heerfore marks a new epoch in Australian picture production. All the crudities usually associated with local pictures have been eliminated land the picture is of such a high standard and the work of the actors in many thrilling stunts so remarkable that the redoubtable Bill Hart, who witnessed a screening of it in California . wrote a special article in the "Photoplay Magazine" concerning it and Snowy' Baker's extraordinary ability as an athletic actor. A cast of unusual excellence supports the star. The story is by Jack Forth, a well-known Australian writer, find the scenes are laid in the real outback of New South Wales, amidst glorious bush settings. Supporting pictures include the first episode of "The Scarlet Runner," a picture in twelve chapters with Earle Williams in : the load. A special' feature of the evening's entertainment will be the selections by Everybody's orchestra.

THE PEOPLE'S. "VIVE LA FRANCE." Probably the most inspiring play for years is the excellent Inee production. "Vive La France," starring beautiful Dorothy Dalton and screening finally tonight at the People's. "UNCLE TOM'S CABIN. To-morrow's big new double bill presents Marguerite Clark in the wellknown story, "'Uncle Tom's Cabin." It is one of those immortal stories that never grow old, presenting a phase of life -in America that is now happily past. In the history of the days when slavery existed there is much of suffering and cruelty, but it is rqlieved by many gleams of kindness and goodwill between master and slave. Both aspects are shown in the picture, and the story of Eva and Uncle Tom is depicted in such a charming way that ono no longer wonders at the popularity of the picture. The season of "Uncle Tom's Cabin" is for two nights only and one monster special matinee on Thursday at 3.30. "The Fighting Trail,' 'the great open air serial starring William Duncan and Carol Holloway, screens also to-morrow and Wednesday.
