THE N.Z. ASSOCIATION. ■THE BEFEREB AFFAIB. At the meeting nf the Management Committee to-night of the New Zealand Hockey Association, a lengthy letter from the Fellding Association protesting against the action of the Manawatu Association in endeavouring to have the decision of the Council regarding granting of permission to Fellding to form, in Association rescinded, was received In connection with the registration of the Fellding Association. U was decided to write to Wanganul, Fellding, and Manawatu Associations explaining the resolution passed at the recent extraordinary meeting of the Council, and suggesting a conference nf delegates of the Associations mentioned should he held, the Association making various suggestions on the matter. Resolutions passed by the Canterbury Association In regard to the roferoelng of Mr. Kent In the Auckland-Canterbury match were received. The chairman (Mr. H. S. J. Goodwin), pointed out that the matter must be discussed in an absolutely Impartial manner. The referee had been agreed to by the New Zealand Association, and his decisions must be regarded as final. Mr. A. W. Dunkley said that the whole matter was one which should bo thoroughly thrashed out, and ho considered (hat the meeting should adjourn and discuss It at another meeting. Mr. D. Snell expressed the opinion that in consequence of what happened at the match, which was unheard of In the history of hockey, a big set-back had been given to the game, and something should, be done In tho matter. Mr. H. Browning considered that the Association should at least consider the suggestion of appointing outside) referees for such matches. After further discussion It was decided, on the motion of Mr. Dunkley, to hold over consideration of the letter pending a report from the Canterbury Association under a certtOn rule of the New Zealand Association.
