PRINTING WORKS GUTTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A fire broke out in the Empire Printing and Box Manufacturing Company's premises, Adelaide Road, to-night. It evidently commenced in the upper storey, which wa3 gutted, and the plant on the ground floor must have suffered considerably from the water. The manager is unable to give particulars of the insurance to-night, though he said the policies were held by seceral offices. The premises of Simmonds and Osborne, cordial manufacturers, adjoined, and their stock and plant also suffered from water. As several wooden building* were only a short distance away, the brigade had a hard fight in confining the fire to the Empire Company's buildings.
