Gary, before the Senate Investigation Committee, .refused to. consider a compromise on any phase of the dispute with the employees of the Steel Trust. He stated that the profits during 1018 were in excess of thirty-three millions.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. New York, Oct. 1. Reports from Pittsburg state that Mr Foster, the labor leader, asserts that 370,000 steel-workers are on strike. The Bethlehem Steel Corporation has issued a statement that ail its plants are now running virtually at full ca-pacity.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
