THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL
TO VISIT NEW PLYMOUTH THIS MONTH. His Worship the Mayor (Mr C. H. Burgess) has received a letter from Mr Gavin M. Hamilton, secretary to the Governor-General, to ascertain whether it would be convenient for their Excellencies, who will be moving to the South Island after the session, to pay a farewell visit to Xew Plymouth about the middle of the month. What would suit their Excellencies best would be for them to leave Wellington by the 8.20 a.m. train on the 14th, arriving at New Plymouth at 8.10 p.m. They propose to remain the night of October 14 at New Plymouth and to leave for Wanganui (whero they have promised to pay another farewell visit) at 11.50 a.m. the following day (October 15). The Mayor replied that the dates suggested would be quite convenient.
