ENTERTAINMENTS.

EVERYBODY'S. CHARLIE CHAPLIN AS "CARMEN." At Everybody's to-night and at both sessions to-morrow Charlie Chaplin will be featured as "Darn Hosiery" in a burlesque of "Carmen." This burlesque of the grand opera has delighted amusement seekers the world over, and, although grand opera is not very well known in New Plymouth, the satire should still prove most amusing. On the same bill one of Chaplin's imitators, Little "Chip" Monahan, appears in a.' clever burlesque of Charlie's burlesque, and the dramatic portion is well sustained by an 0. Henry story, "Vanity and Some Sables." t

COMING MONDAY. "THE LURE OF THE BUSH." Commencing from next Monday, the management at Everybody's will add a number of special features to the programme each week, and also add to the numbers of the orchestra. The first big special attraction to be screened will be "The Lure of the Bush," E. J. Carroll's remarkably successful picture, featuring "Snowy" Baker. The famous Australian athlete was not a very 1 great success in his first picture, but he has hit the high water mark of success in this recent production, which is proving one of the most popular successes yet; screened in the Dominion. Earle Williams, so popular with all lady patrons, also appears on Monday in the first chapter of an episodic story entitled "The Scarlet Runner," which is certain to prove a very popular attraction during the next twelve weeks. Prices of admission from Monday will be D.C. Is 6d, stalls Is (plus tax). The management advise patrons to watch for particulars of Wednesday's big change.

THE PEOPLE'S. LAST NIGHT OF "DIMPLES." Mary Miles Minter in her sweetly pretty Metro picture, "Dimples," screens finally to-night at the People's. The programme includes gazette, Christie comedy, and interest films. DOROTHY DALTON TO-MORROW. Easily the most thrilling picture of the year is "Vive la France," Dorothy Dalton's latest production, commencing at the matinee to-morrow at 2 p.m. The story concerns the adventures of a motion picture actress in France. The village where she lives is the centre of turmoil, for war has begun. She is captured, and placed in a cell together with a former friend of hers who once been her leading man in motion pictures. Their various adventures' are full of excitement and breathless interest. Miss Dalton, it may safely be said, hag never had a more congenial role than that provided her in this picture.

THE EMPIRE. TO-NIGHT—"KENT, THE FIGHTING MAN." A dramatic film, "K?nt, the Fighting Man," will be screened at the Empire Theatre to-night and at a matinee at 2 p.m., and again at 8 p.m. to-morrow. A critic says of the film: "It was inevitable that the popular sporting novel, "Kent, the Fighting Man," should ultimately find its way into the haven of pictures, and now that it has done so it is interesting to find that the producers have not belittled the sporting action of the story by placing the lead in inferior hands. The part of Kent, whose realistic fight with a circus bully, and whose fight for the championship are outstanding features of the story, is played by no less an expert than Bombardier Wells, the ex-heavyweight champion of great Britain. There are some fine supporting subjects, including a tworeel Chaplin-Essanay comedy and a Fatty Arbuckle comedy. Prices of admission are D.C. la Od and stalls Is (plus tax). Seats can be reserved at Collier's at Is 6d (plus tax).
