A SOLDIER'S CASE.
COMPLAINTS AS TO INJURY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Whakatane, Oct. 2. M'Cready contends that he was not given a fair opportunity of conducting his case. He alleges he was summoned to report at Whaugarei for the inquiry at short notice and that all the witnesses were selected by the Government, while he was not invited to call any or given any opportunity of doing so. lie asserts that he was refused the assistance of a lawyer, although a member of the court was a lawyer. M'Cready states that the doctor's letter informed the camp captain that he must be hurried to Auckland for. treatment or he would be disabled for life. M'Cready repeats that the injury which incapacitated him was received at that camp.
'Hie secretary of the Returned Soldiers' Association, after hearing M'Cready's statement, has applied for a full report of the inquiry with the view of asking for a re-hearing.
