The avondale meeting, second day results. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Tor the second day of the Avondale sprinc meeting there was line weather. The going was good and t!ie totalisatrtr investments amounted to £50,858, against £27,394, and for the two days £79,047 10s, against £49,822 10s. last year. Results:— HURDLES. One milo and three-quarters—2 Benzine (Warner) 1, 4 Notability 2, 5 Marconi 3. Also started: 1 Signature, 8 Kinkora, 6 Swatiska, 9 Lombard} - , 7 Johnny Paul. Won by two lengths, eight lengths between second and third. Signature and Lombardy Ml. Time, 3.22. NURSERY HANDICAP. Four furlongs—2 Land Slide (C. Carmont), 4 Bestir 2, 5 Klldee 3. Also started: 1 .Caricature, S Lovelight, 3 Miss Muriel, 7 Potona, 6 Jaffna, 9 Arch Margot. Won by half a length, a head separating second and third," Caricature was fourth. Time, 50 1-5. AVONDALE GUINEAS. One mile— 5 Esthonia, (L. Morris) 1, 3 Phyllona 2, 1 Archie 3. Also started: 7 Marble Slab, 4 No Mistake, 8 Emerald Hill, 9 Clonmel, 2 Heather Sprig, 8 Mistress Biddy. Esthonia and Phyllona made the running from * Heather Sprig. The field bunched at the home turn, and Esthonia, finishing well, won by three-quarters of a length, two lengths between second and third. Time,' 1.44 4-5. PLUMPTON HANDICAP. Nine furlongs 14 Some Boy (Henderson) 1, 1 Gold Kip 2, 12 Vagabond 3. Also started: 7 Uncle Ned, 8 Alteration, 10 Sweet Corn, 3 Mill o' Gowrie, 2 'epredatlon, 11 Blue Cross, 0 Housewife, 9 Tobasco, 5 Meltchlkoff, 4 Ohlnewairuu, 13 Paddlngton Green, 15 Llansannor. The winner led throughout. Gold Kip came fast in the straight, but failed to get closer than a length and a quarter to the winner, the third horse two lengths away, Llansannor was fourth. Time, 1.56. MT. ALBERT STEEPLECHASE. About three miles. —4 Jacaranda (Kecpa) 1, 2 Diavolo 2, 1 Tenacious 3. Also started: 3 Ulster, 5 Southland, 0 Nyassa. Won by fifteen lengths, the Third horse n hundred yards further back. Southland -ill, and Ulster broke down and was pulled up. Time, 6.4. PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP. Six furlongs.— 1 Crowhurst (McFlynn) 1, 2 Rekanui 2, 3 Bedford 3. Also started: 4 Hineamaru, 6 Canzonet, 5 Stilts, 8 Caballero, 7 Gaycktm Won by o length and thrce-ciuarters, a head separating the third horse, Canzonet Was fourth. Time, 1.15 4-5. NEW LYNN HACK HANDICAP. Six furlongs —3 Kilbeggan (R. Reed) 1, 2 Tamaroa 2 6 Miss Lesllo 3. WELTER HANDICAP. Nino furlongs.— Lady Energy (Downing) 1, Waiuta 2, Paddinglon Green 3. Also started: Killard, Fabruyaette, Piorrot, Slow Coach, Entente Cordials, Flowing Bowl, Persian Prince, Mountain Gold, Lady Energy and Flowing Bowl led to the straight. Waiuta and Paddlngton Green challenged. A good finish, a nock .between the first two, and half a lons'li between second and third. Pierrot fell and brokb his neck. Time, 1.D7 2-5.
