OUTBREAK IN ALABAMA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Sept. 30. Messages from Montgomery, Alabama, report an outbreak of lynching. Three negroes, Temple, Phifer, and Crosky, were lynched, the latter being a returned soldier. Temple shot a policeman, and Phifer and Crosky were charged with crimes against women. The negroes were told to run for their lives, and were shot down as they were running. The mob entered the hospital where Temple was lying wounded, and shot him dead in- bed.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
