Low quality crossbreds sold for better prices. Continental buyers were operating freely. LONDON MARKETS. London, Sept. 26. Copper—On spot. £IOO to £IOO 7s 6d, forward £IOO to £126 os. Lead.—Spot £25 12s 6d, forward £26 2a 6d, Electrolytic copper, £lls 10s. Spelter—Spot £4l 10s, forward £42 ss. Tin.—Spot £273 los, forward £274 12s Cd. Silver, 63% d. At the wool sales competition was brisk for all sorts, and prices were firm. The New Zealand clips sold Included Bushgrove, top price 38d, average 30d. Wheat—Market quiet. ' Flour.—Steady. Oats and beans meet with moro inquiry In a firm market, but peas are dull. Sugar—Unchanged. Anilines' report on the skins market state? that 2404 bundles of rabbit skins were offered and 2399 sold. Farriers' sorts made prices 100 to 200 per cent., above July rates, and hatters' lots were up to 50 to 60 per cent. BIG ENGINEERING FIRM. London, Sept. 26. Purness, Withy, and Co. have purchased the Purness family's interest for six millions sterling.
