LORD FRENCH URGES IMMEDIATE SETTLEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 28.. The Cabinet had a long sitting on the Irish question. Lord French was present for two hours It is understood that Lord French is to' remain Viceroy. He urged that an immediate attempt should be made to bring about a settlement, and that the Government should submit new proposals soon after Parliament re-assembles. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
