ITALIANS PUSHED BACK. ACTION BY AMERICAN NAVAL FORCE. By Telegraph —Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 27, 1.5 a.m., Copenhagen, Sept. 20. According to the South Slav Correspondence Bureau, a telegram from Spalato on the 25th inst. stated that a Slav detachment began an advance on the town of Tragir, which is occupied by the Italians. When an American destroyer entered the harbor to compel the retirement of the Italians to the demarcation line, the inhabitants opened fire on the Italians, who hastily left. The South Slavs captured the Italian commander and three men in an armored car. Meantime 200 American marines with machineguns landed and took over the armored car and prisoners, who subsequently were transferred to an Italian ship. Serbian troops luive arrived, and wel'e enthusiastically welcomed. The Americans handed the town to the South Slav troops, and re-ehibarked. The American warship stays in the harbor for a few days.—Reuter..
