The Koicirl was engaged discharging her consignment of coal yesterday, and it was iioped to get her away late last night. JvARAPO BRINGING CEMENT. The Union Company advises that the steamer Kakapo (1521 tons) is loading cement at Whangarel for Wellington and New Plymouth. 'The vessel leaves Whangarel to-morrow night for Wellington anil is due at this port about the end of next week with 605 tons of cement. NEW rra?DUTH COMPANY PURCHASE HUIA.

A New Plymouth company lias purchased the small steamer Hula, which has been laid up In Wellington for some months. The Hula nas formerly owned liy Mr. W. Brewer, and later by the Wellington Steamship Company. She will be placed on the Wellington Patent Slip for overhauling, and will have air-ughl bulklwads fitted Captain JtePhersou will have command of tin vessel when she 1# recommissioned, which will not be for three or four weeks.' The Hu!a is an iron steamer of 127 tons gross, built in 1878 by Yocinan, Auckland, and her engines are by Masefleld and Co., Auckland. For many yeaTS she ran between Wellington and Wanganul for the Wellington an'd Wanganul Steam Packet Co,, Ltd. PROM LONDON.

The Shaw, Snvlll, and Albion liner Kanmea arrived at Auckland on Saturday from London after an absence of about three years. She left London on July 9 with general cargo, and an uneventful run to Capetown was experienced. Tho Cape was reached on August G and a quantity of wine and maize lifted, and the vessel proceeded to Durban to coal On arrival there some delny was experienced owing to the congestion, and Durban was not left until August 17. Fine weather was experienced for the first few dnys of the run to Hobart, but later the conditions were unfavorable. but no damage was sustained by the vessel. Hobau was reached on September 11, and tons of cargo discharged,-ofid 800 tons loaded for Auckland, consisting mostly of timber and flour. Hobart was left on September 13, and a fair passage across the Tnsmnn Sea was made. The Kanmea has about 2800 tons of general cargo to discharge at Auckland, including shipments from Capetown and Hobart. Tho vessel is to leave Auckland on Sunday morning for Wellington. She is scheduled to arrive at New Plymouth on October 4 to complete discharge and commence loading. The date of her final departure from Wellington is given as October 20th.
