REBELLION AND CRIME CONDEMNED. VATICAN INTERESTED IN THE SITUATION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyrijht. London, Sept. 24.;, The correspondent at Rome of the Echo dc Paris says that the Vatican is particularly interested in the situation in Ireland. The ecclesiastical authorities have taken stern measures to condemn the acts of rebr'.lion and crime. The Pope, while desiring to maintain complete neutrality in Irish affairs, continues to send advice to the Archbishop of Armagh and other prelates. Sinn Feiners ambushed a local police patrol at Caher, in County Clare. The police returned the Are. The police, who were not injured, afterwards found a Mood-saturated handkerchief undeT a hedge, also eleven overcoats and ammunition.
