Subject to necessary alterations, mails will close at the chief post office, New Plymouth, as under: For Auckland, Thames, Rotorua, and Waikato d' virts, per Rarawa, Tuesday 7 p.m., Thursdays, and Saturdays, at G p;m , per train Thursdays at 6.15 a.m. For Waitara, Hawera and intermediate offices, per train, dally, at 6.15 a.m., and Wednesdays and Saturdays, at 1.30 p.m. Gisborne and district, per Rarawa, Thursdays at 6 p.m.; other days, per train, at 6.15 am. For Opunake and intermediate offices, per motor car, at 6.15 a.m. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25. For Norfolk Island, Banks, New Hebrides, and Solomon Islands (per ss. Southern Cross from Auckland), at 6 p.m. C. H. BURTON, Chief Postmaster.
