STRATFORD HIGH SCHOOL.

DEPUTATION TO MINISTER,

(By Wire.—Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night.

A deputation representing the Taranaki Education Board, consisting of Messrs. Trimble, P. J. H. White, and Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P., and the secretary (Mr. Whiteombe) were introduced to the Minister of Education (Sir Francis Bel!) this morning by the Hon ,r. B. Hine.

The deputation asked that the building of the Stratford District High School should be commenced at once

The Minister, in his reply, said this was no new matter, as the member for the district (Mr. Hine), had been continually pestering him for some time, but he could only tell the deputation that the work could not be proceeded with until the Education vote had been passed by Parliament. When that was done lie would communicate with Mr. Hine on the subject, as to what the Department could do in the way of increasing last year's vote of £7OOO
