Mannia yards on Tuesday, at our usual sale, there was a yarding of cattlo, and everything sold at higher rates. At Westfteid fat stock market on Wednesday beef was penned In more than average numbers, and although wo penned no extra heavy weights tho quality was good throughout. Bidding was not as brisk as tho previous week, and in very few cases last week's prices were reached. Best oxen sold to £3 9? per 1001b, others £3 3s to £3 7s. Cow and heifer beef sold at from £2 17s to £3 Gs. Steers sold at from £ls to £2G 2s 6d, Cows and heifers sold at from £9 to £2l 15s. We penned calves again In large numbers, prices being on a par with last week's values. Runners sold from £6 5s to £ll 10s; heavy venters, £4 f»s to £6, medium £3 17s Gd to £4 2s Gd, light £2 15s to £3 14s; lighter fat calves, lit for butcher, £1 to £2 12s; fresh-dropped, Gs to 10s. Sheep were penned In average numbers, those yarded being mostly of Inferior quality. Although competition was not 30 keen quotations remain the aamo. No extra heavy sheep were penned. Heavy prime wethers, £2 13s to £2 18s; medium prime wethers. £2 Is to £2 5s 9d; unfinished wethers, £1 15s to £2 0s 3d. No extra heavy or heavy ewes were penned. Medium prime ews, £1 18s Gd to £2 4s; light ewes, £1 14s to £1 18s 3d; unfinished'ewes, £1 8s to £1 13s Gd. Hoggets In average numbers sold at late rates, best selling at from £1 15s to £2. One extr(i choice hogget realised £2 10s ;medium hoggets, £1 103 to £1 24s 9d; small hoggets, £1 Gs Gd to £1 9s Gd. Pigs were penned in about averago numbers, and sold freely at late rates.
