ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY'S MEDAL By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchnrch, Last Night. At a meeting of the Royal Humane Society, the bronze medal was awarded to Geoffrey Parker for attempting to rescue Maria Evans from drowning at Taylor's Mistake on March 16th. In connection with the same fatality, framed certificates were awarded Eugene Francis Burne, Alfred Burnc, Alfred Barrett, Ernest Ballinger, W. M. Shaw, ««d j Laurence Alexander Dow. Silver medals were awarded to Arthur Broady for saving F. W. R. Sargent from drowning at Northeote, Auckland; William Swift, for rescuing Phil Swift and Bert Petherhridgo from drowning in the Oobden Ingoun, Grevmouth. Bronze medals were awarded Frances Brown and Margaret Brown for saving life at Fitzroy, New Plymouth, and Florence Robert O'Neill, for rescuing Violet Ella Robinson, from drowning at Wick's Beach, Takapuna. An in memoriara certificate was awarded in the case of Samuel Colin Crowther, who lost bis life in attempting to save William George Wright from drowning in the Waikato River, Taupo. Framed certificates for rescuing life at Palmerston, Otago, and attempting to save life at Dargaville were awarded William Henry Bayly and Idris Wynne Parry, respectively. Certificate* were awarded to .Tnmes McQuinlan \ Mercury Bay), George Bennett (Wellington), Archibald Black (Wellington), William Inglis Wright, and Thomas Donnelly Lewis (Wellington), Stephen Shirley (Napier), and George Frederick Dobson (Nelson). Letters of commendation were awarded Dorothy Olina Nordstrand (Onerahi) and A. S; Thompson (Pareora).
