Facts are stubborn things and "wlnna ding," consequently those who are imitating about prohibition had better attend the Rev. John Dawson's lecture in the Good Templar Hall to-night. Mr Dawson has probably seen more of the United States and Canada than anyone in our midst, of what those countries are now like with the booze baftished. After hearing Mr Dawson It may wdl be that many of his hearers will feel as though they ought to "go and do likewise." A final reminder is given of the Star Football Club's social, to be held tomorrow evening In the Eaat End Pavilion. Alt arrangements have been completed, and patrons may rely on a thoroughly enjoyable night's entertainment. Mr. Jas. Clarke will present the Carbine Shield to the Club, and extend a hearty welcome to old players and returned soldier members of the club. The four * teams of the club have all had a fair ™ sprinkling of returned men In their personnel. The music for the dance will be supplied by Mrs. George's orchestra. and there will be a splended supper provided. The floor is said to be in the gist of order.
